Uveal melanomas are malignant tumors which originating at choroids, ciliary body, or iris. These tumors historically have been treated by complete removal of the eye. Since 1975, uveal melanomas has been treated with proton therapy in MGH of Harvard university. Till 1992, more than 1600 patients have received this treatment. Five year local control rate is greater than 96%.
